    VMA Ambassador Program

The VMA Ambassador Program engages retired manufacturing and economic development leaders to expand the Virginia Manufacturers Association’s regional presence and strengthen engagement across the Commonwealth. Drawing on decades of experience, Ambassadors support pro‑manufacturing policy, workforce development, professional growth, and business connections—advancing VMA’s mission as Industry’s Advocate™ and championing a competitive manufacturing business climate in Virginia.

    Mark Tubbs

Mark is a government relations professional with extensive legislative and regulatory experience at the local, state, and federal levels, representing industries critical to Virginia’s manufacturing economy. His advocacy work—including time representing Columbia Gas of Virginia—along with engineering and construction organizations, state agencies, and the Virginia Farm Bureau, provides manufacturers with informed insight into the policy, infrastructure, energy, and regulatory issues shaping the Commonwealth’s manufacturing business climate.

    Rob Hogan

After more than 40 years of service, beginning as a welder and spanning every level of shipyard leadership, Rob Hogan retired in 2018 as Vice President of Manufacturing and Material Distribution for Newport News Shipbuilding. A Master Shipbuilder and recognized process‑improvement leader, he now serves as a strategic advisor to companies across the shipbuilding supply chain and to regional organizations focused on strengthening Virginia’s maritime and defense industrial base.
